Policies, Disclaimers and Notices
No business these days is complete without some legal-speak, like formal policies, disclaimers, and notices. So in keeping with that tradition, we've included some of our own here for your information.
Return & Refund Policy
All coffee bean sales are final; no returns or refunds. Roasters may be returned within 30 days. Non-defect related returns are shipped at the customer's expense, and incur a 10% restocking fee. All warranties on appliances (roasters, coffee makers, etc.) are still in effect as they are handled by the manufacturers, and you may contact them directly.
Privacy Policy
We are not in the business of gathering personal information for trade, sale, or sharing with any other party. We aren't even interested in gathering any of your personal information other than to facilitate communications with you as our customer in order to process orders or to occasionally update you with our monthly newsletter--but only if you have indicated your permission. You have the option of opting out of our list that we use to send you updates on specials, new products, etc. We find unsolicited emails quite intrusive and annoying and won't subject our customers to them either.

Product Disclaimer
Green coffee is an agricultural product and care needs to be taken to ensure that it is properly prepared for human consumption. Just as raw fruits and vegetables should be looked over, washed, cooked, baked, etc. before eating them, it is your responsibility to properly prepare the coffee to enter your body.
Before roasting, you should carefully sort through the coffee and remove any non-coffee material. The processing methods used to prepare coffee for export frequently leaves small amounts of undesirable matter in the coffee. Undesirable matter may consist of things like dirt, pebbles, sticks/twigs, beans, corn, and even metal objects. That's in addition to unwanted coffee-related matter like the parchment, broken beans, and blackened beans that can all result in a less than optimal cup. It is your responsibility to sort, clean and prepare your coffee for roasting and consumption. Therefore Chicane Coffee disclaims any responsibility for preparing coffee for brewing and consumption.
Back Order Policy
In an ideal world, there would be an endless inventory of everything we typically carry. On very rare occasions an item may be temporarily out-of-stock. When possible, we'll post a notice on the site beside the affected item, but sometimes high order flow may overwhelm our best efforts to keep up. If we are temporarily out of an item you ordered our policy is hold the entire order and simultaneously contact you via email about the details of the delay in order to determine the next step. That way you can decide if you would like to:
- Delete the item from your order that is on back-order and be refunded the amount
- Modify your order by substituting something else for the delayed item
- Ship the currently in-stock items immediately, and then allow us to ship the back-ordered item at our expense once it arrives
We regret any delays and will strive to do our best to keep them non-existent. If they do happen, please bear with us, and we'll strive to make your transaction as smooth as possible.
